I have an eclectic background. It is this unusual blend of military, office, and educational experience that led me to software development, UX/UI specifically. Improving peoples daily tasks make me feel good about the work I do, and gave me the experience to execute projects smoothly and effetively.

Experience

Knowledge Manager/SharePoint Developer

Apex Analytics Group

Developing knowledge management solutions via SharePoint has been an adventure in experimentation. Being flexible and interviewing users helps me develop the training and tools they need to spend less time digging for information, and more time executing their missions. Apex is a government contracting group that works closely with the Army day-to-day to support their varied needs.

September 2018 - October 2019

Web Developer (Summer Intern)

Nations Title Company

Nations Title Company needed a fresh look and some updated branding. I was able to use JSON, AJAX, HTML, CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript to create a new, modern website with parallax effects. This was a pure informational site and needed no back end or commerce support. I authored wireframes, a style guide, and hand coded new websites templates from scratch for Nations Title and all subsidiary companies. In order to track internal and external customer usage, I employed Google Analytics for traffic, device, and browser analysis. In order to improve search, I employed micro tagging from schema.org and meta tags to aid SEO.

Software Developer

SRA International & ATC

I worked for these two companies in succession of one aother doing the same job. One contractor lost the contract, and another picked up the same contract. They are both Air Force government contracting firms that provide training programs Air Force wide. We developed computer based training solutions. We redesigned and updated their training platforms an content from legacy systems using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Flash. We created all lesson materials from scratch. These lessons were developed on a closed, secure system for Military Intelligence entities. We also provided quality control and maintence at the Ari Force's request.

As a linguist, I translated Serbian, Croatian, and Bosnian for use in 1000+ intelligence reports used by high level tactical decision makers. Worked on a team to help guide mission tactics, protect assets, and provide predictive analysis for live counter terror|counter intelligence missions. We also srveyed and updated software on remote sites for improved intelligence collection. I also got to do cool Army stuff, like drive HMMWV's, weapons training, and urban assault tactics.

Interests

I love playing baseball with my son in the yard, and to draw with chalk on our diveway with my daughter.

I'm kind of a sci-fi and fantasy fan girl of that genre's movies and television shows. I love to bake, and I like to tinker and explore the latest web-dev advancements.
